2005 Rappahannock Cellars Noblesse Rouge

2005 Rappahannock Cellars Noblesse Rouge

Score 6/10
Price (My price) $17($15)

Some acidity in aroma, but not in flavor.
Very easy to drink. Would go well with Asian red meat dish.
Can taste Cabernet Franc and a bit of Siraz, but not other grapes...

This winery is interesting to me; They used to own the winery in the Santa Cruz Mountains! in California, but moved to Virginia in 1999. They say it's harder to make wine in Virginia than in California. I can see that given the more fluctuating climate.

They seem to be known for the wine of less popular grapes - Norton, Vidal Blanc, Seyval... My limited knowledge on wine, of course, did't include these names. Viognier and Cabernet Franc are the best-known grapes in Virginia, which seem to hold true for this winery. I don't think I can find these rare varieties easily once I'm out of Virginia, so definately I'll visit the winery sometime soon!

No info about the blend/percentage on the bottle or the winery's website.
