2005 Puligny Montrachet Louis Latour

Score 7/10

Price (my price) $28($30)

Good wine for value!!!
Despite its vintage, the wine had a good degree of ripeness. Vanilla and a bit of caramel? aroma. Flavor of green apple, white peach.... Oakiness in the finish.
Great year and great wine-maker (though it's a negotian version). I will buy another bottle!

Tasting Note
A racy, woody character wine, with grilled almond and hazelnut aromas. It is lively, with a slightly tart green almond finish. It is fat yet has good acidity, proving its balance and potential. A lively finish to it. Will evolve brilliantly revealing new aromas in five to seven years. Tasted January 2007
Vinification
Barrel fermented with 100% malolactic fermentation, 8 to 10 months ageing in new oak casks.
Description
Home to some of the world’s most extraordinary Chardonnays including the famous Montrachet, Chevalier-Montrachet and Bâtard-Montrachet. The village wines are racy with a bouquet of almonds, fern, hawthorn and peaches. The flavours are rich but steely, a characteristic that often distinguishes them from their neighbours in Meursault and Chassagne.
